Alongside our products and soon to be standalone, the Minim mobile app helps people personalize their WiFi experience at home and also find secure and reliable WiFi on-the-go.
We are looking for a Director of Product to expand our software product vision and develop a product roadmap rooted in customer empathy, product metrics, competitive positioning, and monetization strategy. The ideal candidate is a self starter with proven success managing a mobile app in a startup-like environment. Reporting to the VP and managing a small team, this position requires substantial hands-on product management and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Product Vision - Support Minim’s product vision, expressed in well-researched and clearly presented PRDs, MRDs, and PRFAQs.
- Product Roadmap - In collaboration with the VP of Software Engineering, assist in prioritizing, defining, and communicating a software product roadmap that is both exciting and feasible to rally our team, customers, and investors.
- Feature Ideation - Alongside key stakeholders, develop personas and empathy mapping out of real customer feedback; collaborate with UX/Design to solve customer pain points with elegant solutions.
- User Story Development - Craft user stories and present to the engineering team for refinement; organize into feature sets and iterations that ensure continuous value delivery.
- Competitive Research - Become a Subject Matter Expert on domain, market and competitor products.
- Cross-Functional Alignment - Integrate and harmonize priorities across functions and build alignment through active collaboration and coordination with senior leaders.
- Technology Partnership - Partner with Hardware and Software Engineering Leadership to schedule the roadmap and coordinate product and feature launches
- Agile Participation - Be an active member of the agile process, collaborating with project managers for roadmap and sprint scheduling.
- Customer Surveys - Develop a Beta Testing program for customers to take part in the latest feature testing and provide feedback. Develop a feedback loop with our Customer Department.
- KPIs - Implement product usage metrics (e.g. pirate metrics), paid feature conversion tracking, customer lifetime value, and churn.
- Leadership - Manage and coach a small team of product and packaging designers
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, Computer Science and Arts a Plus; Other Degrees, Experience amp; Certifications also considered
- 5+ years of product management for consumer apps
- Passionate storyteller
- Creative problem solver / design thinker
- Self-driven organizer with high attention to detail
- Startup experience and passion for hands-on product management
