PuzzleHR is seeking a Dental Assistant for Dental Team for direct hire.

Hiring: Dental Assistant

Fulltime: Non-Exempt, Hourly, Mon - Fri

Payrate: $ 18. 23.50 per hour + Commission

Location: Plantation, FL 33324

Summary: Committed to providing doctors unparalleled support and assuring patients have an unbelievable experience starting from the intake at the reception area, and through the entire visit.


Job Duties:

  • Greets patients in the reception area and escorts patients to the operatory
  • Confirm 2 days prior to an appointment that lab cases have been received
  • Assists the dentist in the administration of treatment at the chair side as required or directed by the dentist
  • Prepare the patient for the treatment
  • Assist the dentist in performing their treatment to the patient in restorative dentistry
  • Prepare materials and equipment for treatment and have them ready for the dentist’s use
  • Promotes an atmosphere supportive of good dental and general health by demonstrating good oral hygiene, questioning patients to ascertain home care status, instructing patients in techniques of flossing and brushing in accordance with protocol
  • Maintain a sterile and neat working environment according to current infection control procedures
  • Review the health history, make chart entries under the direction of the operator and assure completion of forms and signatures
  • Assume the responsibility associated with any expanded duties that may be delegated by the dentist or Manager
  • Familiar the patient and the aspects of their dental visit and provide support and compassion to that patient when it is needed
  • Stock operatory and maintain clinical supply inventory
  • Complete all responsibilities outlined in the Dental Assistant Duties Log
  • Review daily schedule to set up appropriate trays and instruments
  • Assist in front office procedures if time allows or need is determined by the Manager
  • Supervise preventive maintenance of dental equipment

May perform the following procedures:

A. Place bases and liners on sound dentin. B. Remove excess cement from supragingival surfaces of teeth with hand instrument or floss. C. Temporary cementation and removal of temporary D. Placement of post-extraction and periodontal dressings. k. Take bite registrations for diagnostic models for case study only. E. Coronal polishing.


Requirements

Qualifications, Education, and Experience:

  • High school graduate (or GED)
  • Proof of completing radiation safety course
  • One year experience as a registered dental assistant
  • Certification as a Dental Assistant required
  • Certificate for coronal polishing a plus
  • Demonstrate knowledge of dental health education subjects
  • Ability to complete forms in an orderly and accurate fashion
  • Able to use sound judgment. Possess a calm disposition and the ability to work easily with people
  • Ability to relate to the public in all areas (racial, ethnic, and economic)
  • Willingness to work all business hours
  • Willingness to participate in community events such as health fairs, etc
