Amazon Marketplace Marketing Manager
The manager of ecommerce marketplaces is responsible for site operations, online marketing, product assortment, merchandising, promotions, and brand maintenance.
This position collaborates closely with Operations, Marketing, PR and other areas of the company to develop and execute Marketplace initiatives that deliver on the needs of the customer and Marketplace revenue goals. Reporting to the CMO, the manager is an individual contributor but does direct external agencies.
Responsibilities:- Develop and execute against Amazon marketplace strategy and revenue goals. Manage the marketplace through agency partners, evaluating and acting on customer feedback, performance metrics, and Pamp;L drivers.
- Create and execute against a digital marketing and content calendar, promotional campaigns, marketing activities, and event coordination aligned with holidays, special capsule collections, and sample sales.
- Ensure daily site maintenance is conducted, correcting product descriptions, product placement, new item posting, low and out of stock item management and reconciliation of marketplace listings.
- Ensure marketplace copy and meta data are fully optimized to maximize traffic from search engines/off-site platforms. Assist in SEO efforts including keyword research, site audits, page and site level optimization, link building, and competitive assessment.
- Support site merchandising, including assortment and inventory plans to match the sales plan.
- Effectively use data analytics -site sales, customer buying habits, customer analytics, shipping, inventory and returns - to monitor and impact the product journey, customer experience, and sales.
- Drive Amazon strategy and reporting, staying up to date on best practices, trends and identifying new opportunities (products, promotions, etc) within the marketplace.
Requirements
- 2+ years' experience as an Amazon Marketplace marketer, ideally across multiple categories
- Experience driving Amazon sales through paid search and display with revenue of $5-$7m a year/$14k daily
- Strong understanding of Amazon Marketing strategy and how to leverage platform for growth and scale, ideally with a FBA aggregator or agency
- Demonstrated success as an owner of web technologies, browsers, analytics, reporting and content management systems and processes
- Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
