Junior SCADA Developer

The Junior SCADA Developer’s responsibilities are to help trouble shoot, maintain, administer, and improve Streamline Innovation’s SCADA infrastructure. This role will contribute to the Streamline vision by lowering operational costs by focusing on process automation, control, and data analytic initiatives.

The Ignition platform natively runs Python, has a package that is basically a web framework, and has another package where additional functionality can be accessed by calling the Java objects. The Junior SCADA Developer will help develop, maintain, and update the standard functionalities of a SCADA system, in addition to tapping into these advanced functionalities.

• Develop front-end screens for SCADA system through HTML/CSS programming

• Evaluate, recommend, configure, support industrial computers to host SCADA systems remotely (Linux operating systems, VMs and/or Docker containerization)
• Supporting development of software standards for modular, scalable, and reusable solutions
• Maintains workflow and programming documentation for all work by writing and updating procedures

Requirements

• You must be able to contribute almost immediately in at least one of the following categories and demonstrate the ability to learn new languages/frameworks to backfill the other skills:

• Experience with Front-end web development
• Experience with Python, Java, and/or SQL
• Experience with Linux operating systems

• University degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
• Knowledge with various types of remote devices such as Allen Bradley PLCs preferred
• Knowledge with SCADA software such as Ignition and/or Ignition Certifications (IU, Core, Gold) preferred
• Knowledge of SCADA systems and principles of databases and historians preferred
• Knowledgeable in computer networking architectures, topologies, and hardware preferred
