Job Description

Technical Network Project Manager

Denver, CO

The Technical Network Project Manager is a member of the Network Operations Core amp; Backbone Operations team and is responsible for providing capacity expansion and new build support for the team. The team is engaged in many new network builds and existing network expansions for both fiber and coax networks which requires orchestration and deployment of a large number of cutting-edge network components.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • 2+ years enterprise IT project-based team experience as Project Manager
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education, and experience
  • 2+ years’ experience in telecommunications and/or the cable industry
  • Previous experience with the development and/or deployment of cable/telco backbone, regional and access fiber networks preferred
  • Provides day-to-day coordination of and direction to project resources, including architectural orchestration and change management between teams
  • Excellent process skills to aid in the structuring of work schedules and delivery prioritization
  • Review tickets associated with the various activities of the team to help remove blockers and keep efforts on schedule.
  • Assists in auditing and managing project activities ensuring that governance controls are in place
  • Defines and reports project roadmap, status, development issues and success metrics
  • Identifies and monitors areas of risk
  • Continuously seeks opportunities to improve performance and schedule
  • Establishes effective communication plan with cross-functional project team and key stakeholders
  • Ensures effective change management occurs throughout the course of the project

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of network terminology
  • Ability to troubleshoot and escalate issues related to process and technology
  • The successful candidate will bring a creative, self-starter approach to this position
  • Uses interpersonal skills, relationships and tools available
  • Understands that things move and change quickly and adapts to a fluid work environment
  • Looks ahead and is ready for upcoming scheduled events, understands tasks needed to perform, and manages performance

Requirements

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong-to-expert user of Smartsheet, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Jira
  • Exposure to Visio or Lucidchart
  • High degree of integrity and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks
  • Strong ability to document and present complex data in an easy-to-understand manner to support critical business decisions
  • Detail oriented ability to analyze problems, probe facts and question assumptions using fact based decision-making Strong logical and analytic skills
  • Ability to demonstrate company values, maintain a positive demeanor, encourage different points of view and work thru complex issues
  • Strong ability to work effectively in a distributed, matrixed environment and deal effectively with ambiguity
