Job Description

SUMMARY:

Terran Orbital Corporation is seeking a motivated and experienced Director, Employee Experience at our Irvine, CA location. Terran Orbital is a leading worldwide provider of nanosatellite and microsatellite vehicles, services, and solutions to Commercial and Government customers.

The Director, Employee Experience is a new role within the Human Resources team and is responsible for the employee experience strategy across Terran Orbital with the goal of building a culture where employees receive an experience that mirrors the best customer experience. The role will develop and execute programs that promote and sustain a best-in-class "employee-customer" oriented culture.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working as part of the HR team and partnering closely with Marketing, Internal Communications, Facilities, Operations and Recruiting to develop an overall employee experience strategy and oversee internal employee facing services (i.e., Onboarding, Workplace Concierge, Food Service and Amenities) to ensure a quality workplace experience.

  • Integrating services and representing employee perspective back to a matrixed team (i.e., Facilities, Business Services, etc.)
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement programs and initiatives that drive a best-in-class workplace experience, starting from the on-boarding, and including rollover of the Company Values/Behaviors.
  • Establishing a communications infrastructure within the Operations team, identifying vehicles and methods to keep team members informed and engaged and drive business results.
  • Lead internal communications strategy, responsible for employee communications including digital signage, in-house channels, apps and other digital methods of communication.
  • Providing guidance and direction on internal events.
  • Creating and maintaining overall employee experience calendar that unites people members across teams, departments and locations, and energizes company culture.
  • Overseeing key vendor relationships, including food service, travel agencies, catering, special event and offsite venues, etc.; oversee quality and spend for food services vendor.
  • Oversee the facilitation of programs (i.e., Healthy Week, Launching and Engaging with ERGs, Career Week, and other employee events).
  • Building on our existing feedback channels and surveys in order to maintain an open and fluid effective feedback culture; create and/or edit tools, training materials and resources to help partners and leaders successfully build action plans based on survey results.
  • Partnering with HR Leadership/Exec team to create initiatives with a focus on programming around experience that aligns with the needs and interests of employees.
    Other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of seven years of progressive experience in facilities operations and/or Human Resources, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong leadership skillshas experience growing and managing teams and holding team accountable to success metrics; experience managing remote teams is preferable.
  • Ability to effectively steer through ambiguity and an organizational maze to get things done.
  • Executive presence: comfortable presenting to senior management and can balance the interests of multiple stakeholders.
  • Able to exercise sound judgment in complex and sensitive situations.
  • Project management experience: the ability to develop timelines and manage projects and stakeholders while executing on time and with a sense of urgency is critical.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills with the ability to work with a diverse employee population is critical.
  • An active listener who can synthesize information and facilitate conversations to achieve consensus will be successful in this role.
  • Critical thinking and an ability to craft messages for targeted audience groups.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in analyzing critical data to drive business results.
  • Excellent relationship building and influencing skills, ability to earn trust and support in a cross-functional environment.
