Job Description

Shoplift is a new, venture-backed startup building software that helps Shopify merchants make more money by improving their site without a designer or developer. With contextually intelligent recommendations based on millions of data points, as well as Shoplift's proprietary template engine that creates page components using the merchant's existing existing brand assets, merchants can use Shoplift's page-building and A/B testing tools to test and deploy new versions of their pages. With each test and improvement, merchants can significantly change the growth trajectory of their business. Pretty cool, right?

We're building our founding team and need a rockstar senior product designer with strong technical sensibilities to take our app UI/UX to the next level. This means developing robust design systems and designing new features, functions, and flows from concept to production. You’ll work closely with our Chief Product Officer to refine the product roadmap, and review findings from frequent user testing sessions in order to develop the best possible experiences for our users.

This is a rare opportunity to take the reins and leap forward in your career. We're looking for someone who wants to grow into a product leader, and who has the potential to lead a team as the business grows.

You Are:

  • User-obsessed
  • A product perfectionist
  • Ambitious
  • Scrappy
  • Technical
  • Passionate about solving problems
  • Attentive to detail
  • Hungry to win

If that sounds like you, we'd love to talk. Here's a little more about the role:

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all product design and UI/UX initiatives - Report directly to Chief Product Officer
  • Work closely with the CPO to identify, scope, and plan designs for new product areas, app features, and user flows
  • Craft, refine, and maintain a robust, scalable Design System (in Figma) for our core app that contributes to excellent user experiences as well as represents the greater Shoplift brand identity
  • Create end-to-end designs for feature improvements, reporting tools, new features, and more
  • Create, collaborate, and iterate on flows, prototypes, and hi-fi visuals
  • Take an active role in refining our design processes to help drive constant improvement in our ways of working
  • Facilitate design handoff and field any follow-up questions from developers
  • Facilitate workshops to build cross-team knowledge and consensus
  • Grow and lead a team of designers as we scale
  • Conduct usability testing and present findings

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an in-house UI/UX/Product Designer on a complex, enterprise or B2B SaaS product.
  • Basic understanding of Shopify, e-commerce platforms, and sales/marketing ecosystem in general
  • Multiple years of experience updating and maintaining style guides and component libraries in Figma
  • Works at a high standard of creativity, curiosity, craft, and quality.
  • Leverages prototyping skills to demystify designs for other teams, especially in cases where interactions may be particularly nuanced.
  • Highly proficient in Figma and organize and annotate components and features.
  • Comfortable leading design for large projects and driving understanding from cross-team colleagues.

Nice to have:

  • Experience designing data-heavy applications in the marketing-technology industry
  • Experience designing highly visual applications supported by user content and assets
  • Prior experience in a startup environment.

Our ideal Product Designer is:

  • Ambitious, driven, wants to get better, wants to win
  • Proactive self-starter, problem-solver who doesn’t need micro-managing
  • Adaptable and receptive to design feedback
  • Comfortable speaking with product users and has strong interpersonal skills
  • Deadline-oriented and efficient, possessing strong time management skills
  • Organized and detail-oriented, carefully reviewing your work at all stages
  • Proactive in communicating and documenting project progress, status, and workload
  • Up-to-date with emerging design trends and technologies, eager to learn and share
  • Wants to be a part of a fast-growing company (and all the highs and lows that come with it)

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation that includes equity options
  • Flexible remote work policy
  • Daily Seamless stipend (when in-office)
  • Generous time off policy to balance your work and life, including paid parental leave
  • Competitive medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your dependents
