The Scrum Master/Project Manager oversees development teams practicing Scrum Methodology. Successful candidates will have experience coordinating with other departments in order to serve the team and remove blockers, allowing the team to complete their work effectively and achieve their goals. This role serves as the Scrum Master for 2 teams, and will be a fierce advocate for their success. They will additionally manage plans, forecast deliveries, and manage and communicate issues, risks, status, and dependencies (within and across projects), as well as work with Product and Technology teams to ensure the roadmap translates into actionable goals for a sprint. This is a hybrid role, with 2-3 days in-office, either in Syosset, NY or Manhattan, NY.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Use JIRA and Microsoft Project to establish goals, tasks, dependencies, target dates, activities, owners and project status
- Be the right hand for our Product Owner and development teams, anticipating their needs in order to further the project’s success
- Work with external stakeholders as well as the product owner to craft requirements upon which the technical team will develop
- Work with the design team to ensure UX amp; UI are in place for development
- Ensure that tasks are managed and escalated, as appropriate, and communicate to all stakeholders as required
- Prepare and publish weekly project reports/status for management to be informed of any open/at risk completed items
- Champion an iterative planning process; work with the team to define the work that will be packaged into releases and delivered
- Facilitate scrum ceremonies and communicate updates to stakeholders (project team, external clients, senior management and the executive team) as needed
- Coach the teams as needed in best practices relative to scrum methodology
- Work with stakeholders to understand the scope of the project, and ensure project requirements are communicated clearly to the development teams
- As needed, create and manage technical project plans, ascertained by working with the project team to define the deliverables that will be developed in each release of the product
- Be comfortable using both Agile (Scrum) methodology and traditional Project Management methodology, if needed
Requirements
- 5 -7 years of experience using Agile (Scrum) methodology with teams
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field
- Experience in using a structured project management methodology to manage detailed technology projects plans
- Ability to manage multiple work streams and identify risks, issues, dependencies and take actions accordingly
- Solid knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Visio)
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, both with external and internal stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills amp; attention to detail
- Knowledge of technical environments, comfortable with interacting with all levels of teams
Preferred Qualifications- CSM Certification and/or PMP Certification
- Relevant experience in Media or Ad Tech industry, preferably in measurement or planning
- Experience working on projects from business requirements through UI/UX design and implementation
- Experience working on projects with technology in: Big Data, Data Warehousing or cloud computing
