Architectural Designer

Industry: Commercial architecture

Location: On-site in Englewood, CO (Denver area)

Compensation: $60,000 - $75,000 annual salary plus comprehensive benefits package (see below for details)

Schedule: Full-time Monday - Friday, flexible work hours (with 9:00am - 4:00pm core hours)

Summary of Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Three+ (3+) years of architectural work experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited college
  • Two+ (2+) years of Revit experience

With a solid project lineup behind us, we are looking for a few more talented folks who want to be a part of building and expanding our exciting future in architecture. We provide a wide range of services including land entitlement, programming, design, and administration of commercial projects. We have a tight team of 15 employees, and our smaller size allows us to be nimble and make quick adjustments in a constantly-evolving industry. We’re looking for a talented and energetic professional to join our positive, supportive, and collaborative team. As an Architectural Designer, you’ll be involved in the integration of every project phase from kickoff, through concept, design, and construction. You'll work on a variety of tasks including collaborating with the design team, meeting with clients, and actively designing and working through the production of technical drawings. For this role, the ideal candidate is someone who:

  • Has a natural passion for drawing and for building design
  • Is an excellent problem solver and takes the initiative to come up with solutions when a problem is discovered

Essential Responsibilities of an Architectural Designer:

  • Work on project types including automotive, retail, fitness, and mixed-use facilities
  • Participate in site planning and design sessions
  • Draft architectural plans and compile design specifications
  • Prepare and present conceptual designs and development drawings
  • Rework and modify designs based on comments and reviews from management and clients
  • Participate in construction material selection
  • Prepare construction documents and ensure all vital information is recorded and maintained
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of building codes and ensure that all layouts and blueprints are compliant
  • Ensure the quality, accuracy, and professionalism of the instruments of service
  • Participate in construction administration, review of shop drawings, product submittals, and responses to RFI’s
  • Collaborate and coordinate with clients, consultants, and building/planning officials
  • Provide leadership and mentorship of staff and internal project team members

Requirements

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited college
  • 3+ years of architectural work experience
  • 2+ years of Revit experience
  • Exceptional attention to detail to ensure tasks are completed thoroughly and correctly
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • High level of autonomy, drive, and initiative
  • Strong, proactive problem-solving skills and analytical abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to produce reports, assign tasks, accept instructions, and handle vendor con
