Requirements
As a Lead Cloud Engineer at ActivTrak, you will be responsible for managing our cloud infrastructure including our Kubernetes clusters, databases, and CI/CD processes, ensuring their continuous operation. You will coordinate and drive the completion of complex projects working closely with Engineering and other teams. You will be embedded with one or more of our engineering teams.
We run an advanced cloud-native application that supports hundreds of millions of events per day, leverage our petabyte+ of existing data, and supports our 150,000+ users as we disrupt the productivity analytics industry. We need your help to continue to grow.
- Be exceptionally pragmatic. Working in a scale-up environment requires that you’ll be able to make the right trade offs to progress projects while balancing constraints and input. We’re looking for a candidate that can be pragmatic, and has the ability to make decisions based on data.
- Be a team player. Our Cloud Engineers work with each development team and focus on keeping them productive by developing our cloud resources and internal processes and tools.
- Be a force multiplier. Develop and deploy tools and automation for our Cloud Infrastructure including our CI/CD pipeline that empower our engineers to efficiently, and securely work at a rapid pace.
- Care deeply about your own productivity. Through understanding your own productivity and the productivity of those around you, you gain better insight into our customers’ challenges. We’re looking for someone who wants to talk openly about their own productivity successes for the purpose of innovation and performance elevation.
Experience:
We’re looking for a technical leader with 7+ years of relevant experience. You will also have:
- Experience completing complex cross team projects on time and within budget.
- Experience in a DevOps, SRE, or software development role.
- Experience managing cloud infrastructure, employing best practices. GCP experience is preferred, including GKE, GCE, Cloud SQL, AppEngine, and VPC/Network configurations.
- Experience in Kubernetes configuration/monitoring and working with containerized workloads. Docker and Datadog experience is a plus.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
- Experience with SQL.
- Linux administration expertise.
- Fluency in at least one programming language. Python is a plus.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Experience in developing CI/CD processes and supporting technologies.
- Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and cost management tools.
