About The Job
We are looking for a mid-level commercial litigation attorney to join F45’s Legal Team at its headquarters in Austin, TX. Reporting to our Associate General Counsel, the individual selected for this role will handle the Company’s day-to-day commercial litigation and compliance matters, provide legal advice as requested by the Company and assist with some contract drafting and negotiations.
Responsibilities
- Interact, both verbally and in writing, with external parties (e.g. franchisees) to clarify any legal issues, determine the best recourse and escalate issues as required.
- Address and participate in all dispute resolutions (e.g., arbitration, mediation, negotiations) regarding franchise agreements.
- Develop, and execute on, a global brand compliance strategy, including contract and trademark enforcement.
- Participate in all aspects of company litigation and pre-litigation (e.g. discovery, document review, data gathering, interviews, subpoenas) working with internal teams and outside counsel.
- Assist in the preparation, review and negotiation of various commercial agreements including U.S. and global franchise-related agreements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in litigation practice gained from combined experience at a law firm and an in-house position.
- Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school and a member of good standing in Texas.
- Experience in commercial litigation required.
- Experience in franchise law is a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure environment, to adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent.
- High attention to detail.
- Solutions oriented and ability to work independently.
- Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google’s G-Suite.
