This position is located in Blue Island, IL and reliable transportation is a must. This role is mainly a Monday through Friday position, working from 8:30am to 5:00pm. Pay is commensurate on experience.
The individual for this role should have a work hard/play hard mentality. Being able to hit the ground running when coming on board is to be expected. So having a background in recruiting, talent acquisition or HR, as well as, being efficient using an ATS is strongly preferred. A friendly and approachable demeanor should be a part of your traits here to encourage and foster good relationships with your peers and others in the office.
The Recruiter will actively recruit, connect with outreach agencies, administer and execute innovative recruitment strategies across the Chicagoland area. This is a hands on position that requires close collaboration and communication with Principals, Operational Managers, and candidates. In this role, you’ll provide critical support to multiple operational lines furthering the capabilities of our business objectives. Working within a team, the Recruiter will lead the execution of Guardian’s recruitment strategy. The position is essential in Guardian’s approach to attracting, evaluating and hiring top talent Security Officers, Security Supervisors, Mid-level Managers and other positions, as required.

Qualifications / Additional Skills / Aptitude
  • Must be a creative, thoughtful problem solver, self-starter and driven to deliver results
  • Strategic thinker with hands-on style to deliver practical and effective solutions
  • Must have a recruiter mentality familiar with the cutting edge of current talent identification and recruiting strategies including social media
  • Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive. A recruiter who can carry a high volume of open requisitions at a time.
  • Experience cold-calling and direct sourcing for talent, including accessing talent, negotiating and closing offers
  • Experience with hourly employees preferably in the security industry over multiple locations.
  • Prior work experience conducting applicant sourcing, recruiting, screening and interviewing job applicants in a fast-paced work environment
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and civil rights legislation as they pertain to recruitment, interviewing, and selection and placement process
  • Excellent organizational skills that include the ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Strong candidate sourcing experience that includes both traditional and online resources
  • Sound understanding and use of Applicant Tracking Technology
  • Strong consultative, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with leadership
  • Actively engage with Operations and HR team members to identify staffing needs; monitor health of applicant flow into the Applicant Tracking System and take proactive measures to increase pipeline.
  • Screening, interviewing, sourcing, and recruiting management, supervisors and security personnel job applicants.
  • Track and maintain necessary data to support candidate recommendations, summaries and debriefs.
  • Assist in creation of new job descriptions and advertisement requests.
  • Periodically assist with personnel onboarding, to include new hire orientation.
  • Actively seek out, organize and participate in job fairs, career expo, hiring events etc.
  • Develop and maintain outreach relationships and contacts with Disabled, Veteran, Female, and Minority Organizations and Agencies.
  • Oversee the recruiting of security
