Location: Mukilteo, WA (Onsite 5 days a week)

We are looking to hire a Senior Test Admin / Lab Manager who wants to get involved with a small, fast-paced and dynamic company. This individual will be responsible for setting up, maintaining, and managing our Mukilteo lab. This individual will own management of the lab and will be responsible for creating a successful lab environment where engineering can thrive. The Senior Test Admin / Lab Manager is expected to work well with cross functional groups (IT/project managers/engineering/operations) to identify and resolve technical issues/risks to minimize their impact on program execution/success. It is important that the candidate be able to work independently and collaboratively within multi-discipline teams. This position typically works under limited supervision and direction.

Requirements

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Manage and coordinate day-to-day operation of the Lab facility, including test execution activities, test lab facility management and continuous improvement, by collaborating with design, software, manufacturing, test, and systems engineering teams.
  • Work with operations and engineering to set lab goals and standards
  • Serve as the liaison interfacing with the development, manufacturing, and production departments to synergistically meld together team efforts to produce quality modularized products.
  • Support lab users day-to-day needs and allocate space for their work to be done.
  • Setup a task scheduler to allow lab users to request support from lab manager and possible technicians.
  • Maintain and enforce lab usage policies to keep the lab well operated and clean.
  • Work with operations and engineering to scope and obtain lab space, develop floor plans of how equipment and benches will be placed, and maintain seating charts.
  • Catalog and maintain a database of all lab equipment in all labs
  • Keep in stocked by ordering replacement material and initiating quotes and POs for high-value items
  • Perform testing in accordance with engineers' Instructions and written procedures.
  • Participate in the fabrication, operation and maintenance of small and large test equipment.
  • Perform electrical rework services


You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Ability to work onsite every day (5 days a week).
  • Experience working with cross-functional groups (customers/suppliers + hardware/software/mechanical/integration/test/digital/RF engineers) to ensure that the facility meets test requirements/objectives.
  • Experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment with responsibility for implementing or managing change.
  • Previous experience in an Ramp;D lab environment.
  • Previous experience setting up laboratory equipment for remote use
  • Experience with Keysight test equipment
  • Solid understanding of networking infrastructure.
  • Experience with setting inventory lists and ordering equipment to maintain standard inventory of lab materials
  • A detail-oriented, organized, self-starter, with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and responsibility
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills


These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Current/active security clearance.
  • Prior experience in the aerospace/defense industry.
  • Experience with LabView and other National Instruments platforms.


Education/Experience:

  • 5+ years of direct experience managing one or more engineering labs.
  • Experience managing labs of mixed specialties in addition to EE is preferred (I.E. EE + ME/SE)
  • Hands on experience working as an electronic technician preffered
  • Degree in physics, electronics, electrical engineering, or related field, BS or MS is preferred
