Senior Database Engineer

Job Description
We are looking for a Sr. Database Engineer to be responsible for designing, building, implementing, configuring, maintaining, debugging, and securing a wide variety of databases and clusters on Linux servers. This position will be in the Technical Operations team, will directly assist various engineering teams, and be part of an on-call rotation. Determining which database technology is appropriate for various workloads, moving data from one database to another, enhancing performance through configuration and schema modifications, and working in both cloud and on-premises systems will be frequent events.
Requirements
- Significant experience with at least one of the following database technologies, as well as knowledge of most others and a willingness to quickly learn more:
- MySQL/MariaDB
- Redis
- DynamoDB
- ElasticSearch
- PostgreSQL
- Experience operating databases with multiple layers of redundancy and scalability
- Experience with migrating data from one database type to another
- Experience operating databases on on-premises Linux servers and Cloud Services
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with database libraries
- Familiarity with additional data store types:
- Hadoop
- Ceph
- MTBL
- Memcached
- Linux administration experience:
- RHEL/Centos/Rocky
- Debian/Ubuntu
