What you will do:

As the People Operations Generalist, you will serve as the primary point of contact for human resources questions and support at ActivTrak. While we are a remote-first workplace, this role is based in Austin, TX, as we would like your presence in our office at least 2 days per week. In this role, you will:

  • Bring enthusiasm and energy to support the growth of our business and people.
  • Develop strong, trusting relationships in order to best support our employees and achieve results.
  • Conduct new hire orientation, offboarding, background checks and employment verifications.
  • Maintain data within all HR systems with a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support the People Team in implementing programs to improve employer branding and the employee experience.
  • Assist with recruitment efforts.
  • Maintain employee records including offer letters and I-9’s.
  • Partner with the rest of the People team on company initiatives and programs.
  • Support our Office Manager with tasks at our Austin office including, but not limited to, event support and general office management.
  • Assist with ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Recommended best practices and reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, systems, best practices, and regulatory changes in human resources, talent management, and compliance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Your experience:

  • 2 years of related experience in Human Resources in a startup environment.
  • Experience managing data in an HR System, preferably Paylocity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with others on projects and assignments to advocate for the best employee experience.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to track and update data accurately.
  • Must be able to complete tasks with minimal supervision and meet varying deadlines.
  • Must be a self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Must be proficient with Google Suite and comfortable with learning a variety of technologies, systems, and processes.
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced work environment.
