Job Description

The Customer Advocate is responsible for customer service and support as well as support for the Outside Sales Director and Regional Vice President (RVP).


Responsibilities
  • Work with new and existing customers to retain, generate, grow, and enhance business through existing and new vendor programs as well as offering promotions.
  • Contacts customers on an ongoing basis to generate additional sales and cross-sell product lines.
  • Trains customers on the e-commerce functionality including our billing portal and Buyer’s Guide.
  • Spend a substantial portion of time contacting customers and customer prospects by phone, e-mail, and WebEx to generate additional sales and to offer promotions.
  • Communicate with and offer support to the Outside Sales Director and RVP. This includes generating appointments, providing follow up with customer prospects and offering backup assistance to the Outside Sales Directors and RVP.
  • Assist in selling specific programs
  • Knowledgeable of market and industry trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies.
  • Work directly with the Outside Sales Directors and RVP to support their efforts and identify opportunities.
  • Planning, reporting, and tracking sales and customer support activity via CRM and other management tools.
  • Prospect for new business and will communicate opportunities with the Outside Sales to develop opportunities into new business.

Requirements

You’ll need to have:

  • Experience with sales planning and account management objectives
  • Effective organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency using relevant sales software and database tracking programs
  • Knowledge of e-commerce functionality
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • The ability to build and foster productive business relationships
  • Strong listening skills, as well as proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • A team-mindset, with the ability to collaborate with customer, suppliers, and employees
  • Strong business acumen
