Job Description

HistoWiz is a histology service company in NYC that processes animal tissue specimens and digitizes the results for biomedical researchers in research and industry. Our intelligent tissue platform facilitates the collaboration between scientists and clinicians and enables discovery by allowing the comparison of cancer histopathology data across different laboratories and hospitals around the world.

We have over 1,000 customers from universities (e.g. Cornell, Stanford, Harvard, UCSF), hospitals (e.g. Mount Sinai, MSKCC, Dana-Farber, MD Anderson), foundations (e.g. HHMI, Cancer research UK), biotech and pharmaceutical companies (e.g. Alexion, Regeneron, Jackson Labs). The Quality Assurance department at HistoWiz is adding to their team! The Process Manager provides Quality Assurance and Operations support with a focus on process review, QC, and order fulfillment. This person will ensure efficiency and compliance with procedures and best practices. They will also spearhead the CQI resolution process. This position will support our work in Long Island City.

The day to day of a Process Manager could include, but is not limited to the following:

  • Process Review new orders and propose order fulfillment dates.
  • Conduct Quality Control.
  • Review and Fulfill Orders.
  • Oversee and manage the Continuous Quality Improvements (CQI’s) resolutions process by tracking complaints, incidents and deviations and working collaboratively with staff to resolve them.
  • Assign Corrective and Preventative actions and ensure completion.
  • Coordinate with Sales and Customer Success to ensure clients’ satisfaction.
  • Audit, inspect and monitor staff practices and report the results of these activities.
  • Evaluate interdepartmental processes for improvement opportunities and propose solutions.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement best practices.
  • Maintain paper and computerized files.
  • Collect metrics and compile statistics for inclusion in monthly reports.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in a scientific discipline.
  • One to two years of related experience in the laboratory or a related technical area.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) skills. This position requires interacting with and guiding a variety of staff and clients.
  • Knowledge of and experience in histology and IHC.
  • The ability to quickly learn about and become a subject matter expert in Histowiz Operations.
  • Knowledge and experience in either GLP, FDA regulation in regards to lab operations, or compliance experience is a plus.
  • Experience in the Biotech/Pharmaceutical industry a plus.
