Job Description

Soofa is the neighborhood news feed that connects a community with screens everyone can see and anyone can use. We're a woman-founded MIT startup with a mission to make cities smart, social, and sustainable.

We are looking for an experienced part-time Bookkeeper/ Accountant to keep our books clean and our clients happy. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. You may also be entrusted to perform daily accounting tasks such as monthly financial reporting, general ledger entries, and record payments and adjustments. Our ideal candidate is looking for a part time role and has experience with start-up culture. You will be one of our friendly faces of billing at Soofa, invoicing and leading collections with a human touch.

Responsibilities
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable
  • Invoice customers
  • Work with third-party CPA to ensure spotless Quickbooks and accurate reporting
  • Plan and track annual/quarterly budgets
  • Assist with onboarding new employees and contractors to Gusto
  • Assist with keeping Soofa compliant with local, state, and federal guidelines for Soofa's distributed workforce
  • Assist our clients with certificate of insurance requests

Requirements

Qualifications

  • 2-3+ years' experience as billing coordinator, AP/AR specialist, or similar position
  • Expertise in Excel, Quickbooks, and Google Suite
  • Up-to-date with accounting guidelines and regulations
