Job Description

ActiGraph is an international leader in the development of validated medical-grade wearable solutions used to measure physical activity, sleep, and behavior patterns in the broader global academic and pharma research communities.

ActiGraph is looking for an experienced clinical scientist who is passionate about using science and technology to advance patient-centered clinical outcome research. The team you will join is responsible for developing and validating novel patient-centered outcomes using time-series health data collected from smart sensing and wearable digital health technologies. In this role, you will be responsible of research strategy and priorities in key TAs (with a focus on Rheumatology and Oncology), design research protocol, conduct clinical studies in partnership with academic and/or industry researchers and collaborate with data scientists and statisticians on the use of digital health technologies as endpoints in clinical development. This role is preferably based in Florida but remote-base options are available.

The essential duties and responsibilities for this role include:

  • Provide clinical science expertise, in collaboration with data science, to identify relevant digital measures that advance ActiGraph’s products and vision in clinical research and development
  • Develop and lead research strategy in TAs of priority at ActiGraph Support commercial team with science-driven material and as SME with clients’ engagement
  • Design and conduct validation studies + Develop validation strategy
  • Engage external clinical, patient and regulatory experts to contribute to DE development
  • Lead literature review and external engagement with patient, KOL, researchers, and pharma to identify pain points in drug development programs, MaHs, measures and the maturity of existing solution to drive best practices for digital endpoint development
  • Prepare internal and external scientific presentations, manuscripts, as required
  • Provide clinical expertises in the design of study protocol, statistical analysis plan and study report.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following required qualifications:

  • PhD in clinical and/or health-related research field with 3+ years of industry experience or MS in a related field with 5-8 years of industry experience
  • Experience in clinical trial, research, the healthcare industry
  • Experience in clinical study design, protocol development, regulatory submission and study conduct.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills to convey results with team members, colleagues, external experts, and regulatory authorities.

Preferred qualifications are:

  • Experience in developing patient-centered outcome Publication record in clinical research
  • Experience working in a translational, collaborative and multidisciplinary environment.
  • Experience in medical device / SaMD development and qualification.
  • Experience with the clinical research using time series data from motion (e.g. IMU, Video) and physiological (e.g. ECG, EMG, EEG, HR, temperature, speech) capture devices.
  • Experience in regulatory qualification and engagement on novel clinical outcome assessments
