Job Description:
This position will report directly to the Director of Ops Engineering and will primarily work remotely but will also need to travel 20% of the time to the Midtown-based Atlanta Data Center.
Responsibilities:
- Setup, configure and manage monitoring and alerting platforms
- Tune alerts to reduce false positives and provide actionable intelligence
- Configure and manage server infrastructure including Linux, MacOS, VMware, and Windows
- Automate large scale management of server infrastructure by developing configuration scripts using automation tools (Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Ansible)
- Detect and respond to incidents in real time
- Provide Tier 3 support for support operations and customer escalations
- Identify process, technology and tooling improvements that will reduce cost and improve scalability
Requirements
Experience:
- 5+ years of Linux experience, managing a large (300+ host) data center deployment
- 5+ years deploying, configuring, or maintaining system monitoring tools (such as Datadog, Kandji, and Esper)
- 5+ years managing DHCP, DNS, NTP, and RADIUS servers
- Working in 24/7 environment that requires on-call support
- Leveraging ticketing platforms (Zendesk and JIRA preferred)
Preferred:
- Mobile Device experience (iOS and Android), including managing a fleet of devices using MDM software
- Networking experience, such as Cisco WLAN, Cisco switches and routers, Meraki, and Fortinet firewalls
- 4-year college degree
- Linux certification (Redhat or Ubuntu)
- Systems experience - DNS, DHCP / IPAM, Linux, MacOS, Windows, VMware vCenter, tooling to manage enterprise fleet of servers (Linux, Macs) [Automation for installation and upgrades], experience with setting up and configuration of large scale enterprise grade system monitoring [Datadog preferred]
- Mobile device experience - Experience with mobile devices, large scale MDM deployments, automation of mobile devices, iOS and Android, Apple / Samsung certifications
- WiFi experience - Cisco WLAN, APs, SSID, design, frequencies / channels, troubleshooting, 802.1x, sniffers, packet capture
- DevOps experience - Break/fix automation - setting up active product-level monitoring with automating response actions
Networking experience - routers [Cisco], switches [Cisco], firewalls [Fortinet], VPNs, design, routing protocols, Amazon Direct Connect (nice to have)
