Job Description

Hydraquip is looking for a candidate who wants to take the next step in their technical career to join our 100% employee owned company. Hydraquip is a fluid power distributor for over 40 world class brands of products as well as a provider of value added solutions to customers including pump/motor assemblies, mobile valve assemblies, hose kits, repair, hydraulic power units and electrohydraulic solutions. We are hiring a Warehouse Technician (Level 1) for our shipping and receiving division based in Houston, TX. The Warehouse Technician will be responsible for the shipping, receiving, and storage of all parts and materials sold and inventoried by the company. This job function is responsible for maintaining all parts storage media in a clean and operationally effective manner

Responsibilities:

  • Order Picking, Packing, and Shipping.
  • o Be knowledgeable about the parts warehouse location numbering system.

    o Be knowledgeable of parts and parts systems sold and inventoried by Hydraquip, Inc.

    o Be knowledgeable of all forms and methods for warehousing.

    o Be knowledgeable of the operation of all material handling equipment and tools.

    o Be knowledgeable of all order picking and packing methods and procedures.

    o Be knowledgeable of all shipping requirements locally and to all territory locations.

  • Stock Order Receiving.
  • o Determine all rules to be followed for disposal of parts that are not required and also non-returnable to vendors.

    o Coordinate efforts with warehouse management to dispose properly of scrapped parts.

    o Maintain documentation concerning the scrapping of parts.

  • Physical Inventory Counts.
  • o Participate in physical counts of parts and materials on an annual or as directed basis.

    o Correct identified duplicated locations.

    o Assist in determining causes of short- or over-item situations.

  • Operate within all parts policies and procedures of the company.
  • Contribute to high employee morale.
  • Carry out all duties and responsibilities in an ethical and conscientious manner.
  • Maintain excellent parts and service department and sales force relations.
  • Operate safely and follow all safety guidelines.
  • Support and participate in the organization’s continual improvement program to conform to ISO 9001 requirements by complying with the Quality Policy and procedures and meeting QMS objectives, if applicable.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Technical school certificate or associate degree a plus.
  • Experience as described below may be accepted in lieu of education.

Desired Experience, Knowledge amp; Skills:

  • Up to two (2) years of experience in mechanical repairs.
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment a plus.
  • Strong personal skills and desire for growth as an individual and technician.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong aptitude for mechanical repairs of equipment and mechanical systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal relations skills.
  • Good physical skills on equipment and an aptitude for manual work.
  • Solid equipment and parts knowledge.
  • Warehousing training in a distribution, manufacturing, or dealership environment.
  • Knowledgeable on shipping methods and procedures.
