We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to develop and execute exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality. SDET responsibilities include designing and implementing automated tests, adding test suites to CI/CD processess, and writing mocks. You will also review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics (e.g. defect densities and open defect counts.) The SDET role plays an important part in our company’s product development process. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for maximizing automated testing in our CI/CD pipeline to ensure unit, integration, system, performance, and regression testing happen ahead of product releases. Ultimately, you should monitor all stages of software development to identify and resolve system malfunctions to meet quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
- Set up, maintain, and operate test automation frameworks
- Perform test automation and set up frameworks on multiple application platforms like web, mobile, and desktop
- Build test scenarios and acceptance tests
- Investigate customer problems referred by the technical support team
- Handle technical communications with partners to understand client’s systems or APIs
- Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
- Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
- Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools
- Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs
- Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs
- Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
- Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies
Requirements
- Knowledge of TypeScript and other other programming languages such as Python, C#,.NET, Java
- Proven work experience in automated software testing
- Hands-on experience with automated testing software, tools, and processes
- Hands-on experience with various test method amp; corresponding tools like MS Test, NUnit, TestNG, Selenium WebDriver, etc.
- Exposure to Behavior-Driven and/or Domain-Driven Development.
- Understanding of Object-Oriented Design
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
- Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting is a plus
- Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
