Systems Engineer

The Systems Engineer is responsible for the smooth and reliable operations of the company’s infrastructure, software and systems. Implements, maintains and upgrades systems infrastructure components for CRICO applications, development projects and other IT initiatives. Provides 3rd level support for escalated systems issues.

• Manage and oversee the implementation, monitoring, maintenance, upgrades, and administration of IT infrastructure services, including, servers, storage to achieve availability, performance, and security objectives
• Improves departmental efficiency using automation tools and scripting
• Responds to and resolves escalated problems pertaining to all application hardware and software products supported by IT in a timely manner
• Analyzes trends and proposes improvements in infrastructure support practices, infrastructure components, and recommends application of new and innovative technologies to provide a high level of service to the business
• Applies the highest customer service standards to all interactions with clients including prompt response, clear communication, follow-up and follow-through, understanding and anticipating the client’s needs
• Coordinates activities of infrastructure vendors to ensure timely and complete resolution of systems issues
• Coordinates with development teams and outside vendors as needed to help define, estimate and complete infrastructure requirements for IT projects
• Works effectively as a member of a project team to deliver project deliverables on time and with high quality
• Solid background of fundamental security principles as it applies to networking, Windows server and desktop platforms, and firewalls
• Performs root cause analysis of systems issues and strives to identify trends and opportunities to improve the stability and usability of CRICO’s infrastructure and applications
• Develop and maintain hardware and software configurations and other procedural documentation to be included in team’s knowledge base, such as DRP
• Performs advanced system administration functions for applications and infrastructure components• Performs other related duties as required by position
