We are looking for a Head of Software Engineering to produce and implement functional software solutions. This role will report to the CIO and you will work with upper management to define software requirements and take the lead on operational and technical projects.
In this role, you should be able to work independently with little supervision. You should have excellent organization and problem-solving skills. If you also have hands-on experience in software development and agile methodologies, we’d like to meet you. Your goal will be to develop high-quality software that is aligned with user needs and business goals.
Requirements
- Presenting reports on Software Engineering status, goals and progress
- Developing and overseeing departmental OKRs
- Ensuring that the technological resources and platforms meet the company's short and long-term needs
- Maintaining the project boards to ensure projects are running to time and alerting the organization if projects are falling behind
- Communicating with all developers on the daily/weekly tasks
- Ensuring smooth running of all DevOps
- Leading the recruitment, onboarding and retention of the Technical team
- Tracking, analyzing and monitoring technology performance metrics
- Conducting reviews of IT products or systems to evaluate their potential value for an organization
- Management of the documentation of release notes and other internal documentation as part of the change and release process with Product
- Perform vulnerability scans as part of pre-release process
- Manage application localization tables
- Triage and assign internal bug submissions as appropriate
- Ensuring that technological processes are in line with relevant laws and regulations
- Creating timelines for the development and deployment of all technological services
- Submitting app releases to Apple and Google Play app stores
- Lead the weekly Software Engineering meeting
- Ensure all relevant release documentation is complete
- Attend the weekly Product meeting
- Attend the weekly L10 meeting

- Strong leadership skills to effectively steer technological efforts and developments and understand the nature of a remote development team
- Strong decision-making skills to make choices that directly impact developmental priorities
- Excellent organizational skills to successfully coordinate the efforts of a technical team
- The ability to think strategically, anticipate future developments and provide technical vision
- Excellent time-management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks to cope with the multifaceted nature of the job
- Experience of multi-platform development
- Experience of managing development teams using the PQ tech stack, including React, Angular and Ionic
- Knowledge and experience of relevant app store guidelines
- Strong written skills to be able to complete documentation
- Experience working with Asana, Slack and Github
- A solid understanding of business processes and functions
