A well-established company (65+ years) in the insurance industry is seeking a Business Intelligence Manager. This individual will plan, coordinate, and supervise all activities related to the design, development, and implementation of organizational reporting and analytics. The BI Manager will take the lead in maintaining, supporting, and upgrading reports, dashboards, and metrics. The BI Manager will oversee the creation and maintenance of data-driven insights that help our organization make better decisions. This individual would establish the vision for the department and develop their direct report(s) to gather, cleanse, organize, and analyze data in order to generate reports and other visualizations that inform business strategy.
The BI Manager will also develop or refine the processes used by their team, recommend tools and solutions, and produce high quality results.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 7 years of relevant BI experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Experience with a variety of BI tools such as QlikView, PowerBI, Tableau, etc.
- Experience working with (and/or creating) data warehouses and data conversions
- Ability to analyze, evaluate, and make recommendations of BI tools, technology, and processes
- Ability and desire to serve as a project leader
- Experience leading business projects
- Experience leading cross-functional teams across various departments including technology and business focused team members
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Experience presenting to executive and senior level leadership
- Exhibit strong attention to detail, time management, and decision-making skills
- Must be able to perform well in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of the life and health insurance industry preferred

Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Business Intelligence Team.
- Write reports and presentations that present data and findings in a clear and concise manner
- Advocate for business intelligence solutions that will help the organization meet its goals
- Coordinate with technology vendors to ensure that new systems are compatible with existing systems
- Analyze data to identify patterns or trends that could indicate problems within the business
- Work with senior management to develop goals, objectives, and strategies for improving business performance using BI tools
- Recommend changes to existing business intelligence processes or policies to improve efficiency
- Develop reports that monitor key business metrics
- Work with vendors to implement new systems or tools as needed
- Monitor industry trends to identify upcoming challenges or opportunities for the organization
- Collaborates with other department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop data and reporting needs.
- Planning and project management, including setting deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and assigning team members to various deliverables.
- Analyze data, including project budgets, risks, and resource allocation.
- Promote teamwork and the development of others.
- Collaborate with internal operations team to identify areas of improvement and opportunity.
