A Software Engineering Intern at Breadware will assist in developing internal tools such as test automation, documentation, and web and mobile app features. The projects worked on will be dependent on the intern’s skill level and interests. They will work closely with the software engineering team. The team member in this role will be mentored in exercising independent judgment and is encouraged to think outside the box to implement innovative solutions for challenging requirements. This position is fully remote and reports to software engineer Kaylee Bement. The software engineering internship pays $20 hourly, which estimates to be roughly $8,000 to $12,000 for the year.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop internal tools in collaboration with the software engineering team
- Assist in writing and maintaining documentation
- Take initiative in identifying and addressing unforeseen project needs and challenges
Team Participation:
- Participate in code reviews
- Be receptive to diverse team ideas and collaborate on the creation of new products and features
- Document and communicate design decisions to team members
General:
- Track and record engineering time, by project, using timekeeping software
Requirements
- 1+ year(s) of relevant software design experience, independently or as part of a degree program from an accredited college or university
- Working knowledge of MS Office software
- Experience in at least one modern programming language: e.g. Python, JavaScript, C++
