The Sending Pipeline team at Sinch Email is responsible for a sophisticated and robust email delivery platform which delivers roughly 1 billion emails daily to people all around the globe. With scalability and throughput at the forefront of priorities, the team is heavily focused on building, improving, and maintaining our microservices, supporting technologies, and architecture that as of today have handled up to 100,000 requests per second! We are constantly seeking innovative ways to ensure our customers are having the best experience with our product as possible.
Responsibilities
- Be a part of the entire SDL: planning and analysis stage, design and prototyping stage, development, testing, integration and deployment, operations and maintenance stage
- Develop high-quality, fast, scalable, well tested, code to help propel the teams solutions forward
- Writing documentation, flowcharts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code to reduce the "bus factor" and siloed knowledge
- Aid our customers and help internal support reps by tackling incoming bugs, answering difficult questions, and offering assistance when needed
- Make informed decisions based on research and testing in order to drive solutions to a final and reliable state
- Be ready to take ownership over certain areas of our stack and become the domain expert in them
Requirements
- 5+years experience paired with an in-depth understanding of Python, Golang, or any similar language
- Experience building and managing highly scalable and distributed systems (including plenty of exposure of building REST APIs)
- Experience with modern day cloud technologies and deployment strategies, such as AWS, GCP, Nomad, Docker, microservice architecture, CI/CD, canary deployments, etc.
- Familiarity with monitoring production code and systems (OTEL, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.)
- In-depth knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB, Cassandra)
- Ability to demonstrate proficient learning techniques that can demonstrate a steep growth trajectory
- Previous opportunities mentoring junior to mid level software engineers
- Analytical mind with a passion for problem-solving
Preferred
- Experience with Golang
- Understanding of observability principals and experience with OpenTelemetry
