Job Description

Freemodel is seeking an entrepreneurial and creative self-starter who wants to be a key driver of growing an early-stage Silicon Valley startup.

Freemodel helps homeowners maximize the sale price of their homes by providing a turnkey pre-sales renovation service. Freemodel designs, manages and pays for remodels with no upfront costs. Homeowners pay out of escrow when their homes sell.

The Business Development Manager role is crucial to Freemodel’s growth and success. You will be responsible for building relationships with senior management at real estate brokerages and establishing and maintaining partnerships with their companies. You will also call on top agent performers to encourage their use of Freemodel.

You will give presentations to large groups of agents within those brokerages. You will work with Freemodel marketing to ensure that agents get the support they need to promote the Freemodel service to their homeowner clients.

The ideal Business Development Manager has 3-5 years of previous sales or business development experience. Ideally, this person is also knowledgeable about residential real estate brokerage and has a working knowledge of residential renovation.

As a Business Development Manager you will:

  • Work with Freemodel Marketing to identify senior brokerage leaders and top agent performers (together brokerage partners) in your area.
  • Solicit referrals to potential brokerage partners from current brokerage partners as well as from Freemodel Project Directors and staff.
  • Methodically follow-up with potential brokerage partners via phone, email, and LinkedIn to make contact and establish relationships.
  • Make 80-100 outbound calls per week to current and potential brokerage partners. Many of these will be cold calls.
  • Take detailed notes on all sales activities and record these notes in Hubspot. Update contact and company info as needed.
  • Use Hubspot to streamline and automate sales activities and follow-up.
  • Negotiate and execute contracts with senior brokerage leaders for joint promotion and revenue sharing of the Freemodel service.
  • Schedule and give presentations to large agent teams either via zoom or in-person. Invite local Project Directors to attend as appropriate.
  • Coordinate and bring catering to in-person presentations. Assist in coordinating gifts to current brokerage partners as needed.
  • Work with Freemodel Marketing to make sure current brokerage partners have the collateral and information they need to promote the service to their homeowners
  • Prepare and send regular reports to senior management of current brokerage partners on the projects Freemodel is doing for their agents and homeowner clients.
  • Work with Freemodel Marketing to execute surveys of current brokerage partners on the performance of Freemodel
  • Attend trade shows and other real estate events to meet potential brokerage partners.
  • Work with Freemodel inside sales to hand-off new projects that you may uncover and to ensure that they are being actively followed-up on.
  • Track the performance of current brokerage partners to determine which brokerages are and are not adopting the service.
  • Work with Freemodel Marketing to continue to promote Freemodel to current brokerage partners.
