The Assembler I position is responsible for the effective assembly of centrifugal and submersible turbine pumps. The position will report to the Branch Manager or Shop Supervisor.
Essential Functions:
- Read and understand written instructions in English
- Pull parts for production and prepare builds for shipment
- Perform work within MLS safety program parameters
- Complete all production tickets when jobs are completed
- Utilize hand and pneumatic tools
- Present a clean and professional appearance according to MLS policy
- Operate and maintain an engine lathe
- Perform other duties as required by supervisor
Requirements
- Experience in basic mechanical work and machinery
- Experience in application of basic math
- Ability to operate a forklift

- Technical aptitude reads and interprets technical blueprints
- Detail oriented identifies defects and ensures compliance with specifications
- Organization maintains a clean and orderly work area informs supervisor of any defective or faulty equipment or material

Education Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to move product weighing up to 50 pounds, including lifting, placing, pushing and pulling
- Ability to stand for entire shift
Work Environment:
- This position’s job duties are generally performed in a shop or warehouse-type environment
- This position may be exposed to loud noises from operating machinery, cold temperatures, chemicals and vapors, work involving manufactured parts, assembly, and heavy machinery
- May also occasionally be required to work in an office environment with traditional office lighting and office furniture, as well as consistent and frequent noise, interruptions, and other similar distractions
