Systems Reliability Engineer (Remote)

Job Description
Members Exchange (MEMX) is searching for a Systems Reliability Engineer who will be involved in building, running, and monitoring the MEMX trading platform and all its components. The primary focus of this role is to ensure that our exchange is running at optimal performance. Other responsibilities include fixing support escalation cases, either real time or during our maintenance window. The team member will be part of a rotating shift to cover MEMX U.S. equities trading hours 7am-5pm EST. The ability to communicate across many different internal and external departments will be necessary
This is a remote role with one required visit to the New Jersey HQ per quarter.
Currently approved remote states include: NJ, NY, CT, PA, FL, IL, KS, GA, NC, SC, ME.
- Be part of the engineering process to build, deploy and monitor trading system(s)
- Configure tools that will help run and monitor our platform: Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk as well as in-house tools
- Use deployment orchestration tools to streamline day to day operations with focus on engineering
- Engage and work with teams such as BizDev, Systems, Infrastructure and Development on providing solutions for various tasks
- Focus on system reliability, scalability and troubleshoot system issues
- Coding, scripting: java, python, bash, ansible. You must be able to read, write, update code
- Familiar with Atlassian suite: Jira Service Management, Confluence
Requirements
- Experience in DevOps / SRE role or similar, with a focus on trading systems
- Networking: multicast, packet captures, routing, tcp/ip stack
- Automation and configuration tools for deployment (ie: Ansible)
- Experience with linux administration. shell, systemd, rsyslog
- Knowledgeable about security best practices
- Familiar with major datacenter facilities and procedures
- Ability to work with time series databases
- Experience with version control, CI/CD (ie: git, Jenkins)
- You like to optimize and improve tools to provide more functionality
- Continuously learn and ability to meet business and project deadlines
- Ability to work in very fast paced start up environment (remote), calm and collected under pressure
