Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting for a Water Treatment Plant and Infrastructure Operator in Denver, Colorado.

This position will work at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal under an OSHA VPP Star Site. This position offers excellent pay (based on experience) and benefit package.
This person will perform varied tasks in a safety-minded environment, including but not limited to, potable and non-potable distribution system management, treatment plant operations, treatment plant equipment maintenance and repair, sanitary sewer system operations, general construction labor, operation of power tools, and other duties as assigned. Specific job functions will include:
- Operate and adjust controls on treatment plant and machinery, including valves, pumps, motors, electronics, and SCADA system.
- Collect and document data from plant RS View SCADA system, gauges, and other instrumentation. Perform calculations to ensure proper plant operations and maintain operation records.
- Operate both potable and non-potable water distribution systems, including maintaining chlorine residual in potable system, bacteriological sampling, pump and valve operation, and usage monitoring.
- Maintain and operate a sanitary sewer system, including management of a zero-discharge sewage lagoon and multiple sewage lift stations.
- Conduct routine and special maintenance, including equipment repair; well redevelopment and assisting other personnel in special projects.
Requirements
- HS diploma or GED.
- At least two years of work experience, experience in water treatment a plus.
- A Colorado Class C or higher Water, Wastewater, or Industrial Wastewater Treatment Certification is preferred.
- Excellent customer service attitude and skills.
- Excellent communication skills written and verbal.
- Positive attitude/High Integrity.
- Strong mechanical skills, able to troubleshoot and repair treatment plant equipment as needed.
- Ability to learn and train to use various kinds of tools and equipment including a derrick truck and forklift.
- Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Work successfully as a team.
- Ability to understand and follow directions with moderate supervision.
- Self-motivated.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Standard four - ten-hour day work week with occasional overtime, as needed.
- Able to be on-call for one week every 4 to 6 weeks with a 2-hour response time.
