Job Title: HR Generalist

Department: Human Resources

Reporting To: HR Manager

Classification: Exempt Full-time

Pay Range: 72k-100k

Job Overview/Summary

The Human Resources Generalist will handle the day-to-day operations of the HR department including administering pay, benefits, leave of absence, reward programs, and triage of employee questions and requests. This position may assist with some administrative duties, including but not limited to, recruitment support, HRIS, and special projects. This position supports both San Diego and Irvine HR teams and employees.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Administration, coordination, and reconciliation of company benefits (health/wellness, COBRA, 401K, LOA)
  • Payroll Administrator (including garnishments, audits, state tax set-ups)
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance (ie. Employee Handbook, harassment training, etc.)
  • Manages and administers Employee Recognition programs
  • Coordinates and provides exit paperwork and survey to departing employees
  • Manages and reviews use of companywide PTO and other time off policies
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from employees and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to appropriate staff members.
  • Coordinates monthly lunch amp; learns
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 4+ years’ professional HR experience, specifically in health and welfare benefits coordination
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and training
  • Some experience using an HRIS and other HR systems
  • Knowledgeable of payroll, garnishments, and benefits distribution
  • Some experience navigating benefit carrier sites for updates and billing access
  • Self-motivated with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines with minimal supervision
  • The position requires someone who is personable, dependable, and responsible, with excellent organizational as well as verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Office
