Job Description
Novel Capital (www.novelcapital.com) is a fintech startup providing innovative revenue-based capital products to transform how companies fund their growth. Our innovative platform provides financing to tech and subscription companies that in many cases don’t fit the traditional banking or venture-capital equity models.
We are looking for a Product Designer (UI/UX) who will be responsible for collaborating with the Product team to identify user problems and develop empathetic, user-oriented experiences that remove the anxiety from financial and metric-oriented interactions. The product designer will help drive user research, develop mocks, wires, and prototypes and execute user testing to determine sticky user interactions.
What You’ll Do
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand user personas, journeys, and goals in order to design thoughtful experiences
- Work closely with PMs, engineers, and customer-facing teams to gather feedback and iterate on user experiences
- Evaluate complex cross-system experiences and understand user business goals to create compelling and effective user interactions
- Convert product intelligence into polished visual mocks that define Novel’s style guide and branding
- Be a champion for user experience quality
Requirements
- 2-3 years designing and shipping products in the fintech or related space
- Demonstrated experience with end-to-end financial process product design with a focus on interaction, UX and integrations interactions
- Energized by simplifying confusing and complex financial journey’s and concepts
- Strong communications skills that can be leveraged to create simple explanations for complex topics to different audiences and cross functional stakeholders.
- Ability to build consensus and buy-in into the product design process and the benefits of good user and experience design.
- Able to communicate the why / what / how of product design planning, strategy, and decisions
- Extensive experience in interaction design with ability to define how an experience should behave based on user needs and scalability
- Experience using appropriate prototyping tools to demonstrate flow and user interaction proposals
- Extensive visual design experience with proficiency in typography, desktop/mobile UI, color, layout, iconography and aesthetic sense and how these elements impact product function
