QC Chemist

ALTIVIA is currently looking for a QC Chemist at our La Porte, TX facility. As a Chemist, you will provide technical support for our operating units by applying fundamental knowledge of chemistry.

Responsibilities

• The QC Chemist performs routine and non-routine testing on raw materials and final products while following established procedures and reports accurate test results.
• Participates in quality and safety initiatives, including method and procedural improvements.
• Prepares reagents and standards based on associated methods and cross train co-workers on routine analytical procedures.
• Performs lab-scale bench-top applications and/or research with minimal input and supervision.
• Provides problem solving and technical support during research and production projects
• This position requires shift-work; including nights, weekends, and some holidays, as required. Some overtime, call-outs, vacation coverage, and work hours may be assigned by supervisors as needed.

Requirements

• B.S Degree in Chemistry
• 2+ years of experience as a Chemist (not required, but preferred)
• Must have good organizational, computer, communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be able to provide critical technical and chemical knowledge to operations, production and commercial management in a clear, concise manner
