Responsibilities
- Providing technical guidance across electrical wiring design and the integration of electrical systems
- Lead in the decision making for connectors, wire types, gauges and insulation to meet program performance and safety requirements.
- Developing and Reviewing ICDs, Harness Architecture diagrams, Wiring Diagrams / Schematics, Harness Definition / Assembly drawings, and Harness Routing / Installation drawings.
- Plan and perform characterization, acceptance and qualification tests
- Review designs, develop solutions, and ensure compliance with the airworthiness standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineers to design wire harnesses. Including packaging routing,safety, weight, and manufacturing
Requirements
- 6+ years of relevant aviation or aerospace industry EWIS experience
- Strong understanding of propulsion systems, powertrain systems, battery systems development processes, component design and qualification and industry certification process
- In depth knowledge of SAE AS50881, AC 43.13-1B, and other EWIS related standards, including the reasoning and intent behind each standard and associated verification methods
- Experience with generating, reviewing, and maintaining wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and engineering specifications
- EWIS experience while adhering to FAA Part 23/25/27 Regulations (including AC25.1701 amp; AC43.13-1B) and industry standards (AS50881 amp; DO-160), or equivalent for other safety critical systems / industries (aerospace, nuclear, automotive, etc).
- Experience with Aircraft EWIS Integration (iron bird and flight test aircraft), including: installation/routing, troubleshooting, signal integrity, fault isolation and repair techniques.
- Experience with EMI/EMC design, protection requirements and validations
- Experience supporting the manufacturing process, including installation processes, tooling and non-conformance dispositions.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
Preferred Experience
- Basic knowledge of SAE ARP4761 and ARP4754
- Knowledge of High Voltage DC Power Safety Standards.
- Experience with Functional safety, DO-254, DO-330, DO-331

The San Francisco / Bay Area base salary range for this full-time position is $161,000 - $192,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
