YouthBuild USA is the technical assistance provider for the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) YouthBuild program. Organizations awarded a USDOL YouthBuild grant receive comprehensive support to successfully implement the YouthBuild model. This includes a technical assistance coach that is either a YouthBuild USA staff or an independent consultant with varying subject matter expertise in education, workforce, mental health, youth/young adult development, and/or organizational development, etc.


YouthBuild USA, located in Roxbury, MA, is the support center for the YouthBuild movement. It strengthens YouthBuild programs through technical assistance, leadership development, innovative program enhancements, and advocacy. YouthBuild

Job Summary

Reporting to the Associate Director, Coaching for Program Impact, and working closely with other key members of the USDOL YouthBuild Program Impact team, the Manager, Coaching for Program Impact position will provide administrative and project

management support for the Performance Coaching task area. This role must possess excellent management and communication skills and be extremely detail-oriented. The Manager, Coaching for Program Impact will assist with onboarding new technical assistance coaches and support the development and implementation of learning tools and resources to successfully provide direct and indirect technical assistance to USDOL YouthBuild grantees. This position will require the successful candidate to use online platforms and attend and/or support up to six in-person national events a year.

The position will require some travel and being able to work across U.S. time zones.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Coach Management Administrative and Budget

  • Manage coach assignments, track USDOL Federal Project Officer assignments,
  • and other data needed/requested

  • Track program, USDOL, and coach data into YouthBuild USA’s Salesforce system
  • for the contract

  • Collect, approve, and share coaching technical assistance documentation
  • Assess trends from coaching technical assistance documentation and other
  • sources as needed/required

  • Support with oversight of coach budget, including invoices, hours, assignments,
  • special projects, site visits

  • Participate in meetings and/or organizational committees as needed/required
  • Coach Management Education and Training

  • Support the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new coaches
  • Co-develop education and training content for coaches’ trainings
  • Engage in individual and Group TA development with coaches and assist in
  • delivery as needed

  • Assist in developing tools, resources, and other TA modalities
  • Content and Delivery Advisor Across Contract Task Areas

  • Provide support across the contract with content development and
  • implementation, including but not limited to regional and national events, and

    individual and group technical assistance with coaches

  • Provide direct technical assistance to a portfolio of DOL YouthBuild grantees

  • Requirements

    Education amp; Experience Required

  • Direct youth/young adult development, workforce development, adult
  • education, and/or counseling management experience required

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5 years of content development and training experience
  • Project management experience
  • Program technical assistance and coaching experience
  • YouthBuild program experience preferred
  • Experience providing training/programming in virtual, in-person, and hybrid venues
  • Experience with online data and training platforms preferred
  • Some budget experience desired
  • Some travel required
