.Job Description:
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the VP of Valuations, is a key position that will enable the successful candidate to join a growing company and play a critical leadership role in the Valuation department. The Valuation Department is responsible for the management of commercial and residential appraisals, BPO’s, AVMs and internal QC review. The position may also involve possible travel to inspection properties around the country. Job responsibilities include:
- Conduct value estimates of real property, all commercial property types, on a nationwide basis for collateral review purposes, and prepare internal evaluation reports
- Lead and manage Valuation department staff, workflow and SLAs.
- Provide guidance to credit and operations staff regarding matters relating to real property intended to secure business loans originated by the Company
- Provide guidance to credit and operations staff regarding matters relating to non-real estate assets intended to secure business loans originated by the Company
- Oversee the timely completion of valuation reports and address valuation issues as they arise to support an expedited the credit approval process (experience required)
- Ensure all commercial and residential valuation presorts are properly addressed
- Other projects and duties as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications
- Certified General Appraiser license, MAI or Review Appraiser certification required
- At least 10-years of experience in the preparation and review of commercial real estate valuations/appraisals and other related valuation reports (e.g. BPOs)
- Excellent judgment and independent decision making required for complex issues
- Experience in valuing and reviewing a variety of property types is required
- PC literate with MS Word and Excel (power users preferred)
- Excellent problem solving, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to be a highly motivated, productive team player
- High level of dependability and intelligence
- Able to manage a small team and deliver required reports on time
- Able to conduct client interviews about the property being valued
Must be able to satisfactorily complete a background check
Must be authorized to work in the United States
