Job Description

Summary

Our mission is to provide compassionate consulting services to local, state, federal and industry clients, active in disaster response, recovery, and preparedness. We will be on time, on target, and on budget with the services aligned to the evolving threats and hazards facing our nation.

The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for assisting the company and clients with special projects within their scope as a subject matter expert. An Assistant Project Manager provides advanced project management, support, advice and analytical services to private businesses and government agencies on how to deal with emergency situations or any emergency management functions or disciplines. The Assistant Project Manager will have a specific work portfolio based on skills sets and needs. The position will be guided in all activities by ACDC’s Corporate Values Platform.

Full Time or Part Time: Full Time/Exempt

Temporary/Seasonal/Regular: Regular

Reporting Division: Recovery

Compensation: $45k-$66k per year

Travel/Location: Remote with up to 50% travel/deployment required.

Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Assist in supporting all corporate and program operations on all division projects in addition to general emergency management services as needed.
  • Assist project manager by leading portions of projects or leading smaller projects independently.
  • Initiate, develop and drive project plans, timelines, budgets and communication across the organization and with clients.
  • Maintain familiarity with the contracts, scopes of work, budgets and requirements for assigned portfolios.
  • Support project needs, priorities and completion deadlines.
  • Assist with client presentation and requested materials as needed.
  • Provide on-site support and project set-ups for clients as needed.
  • Oversee project staff and provide training, scheduling support and quality control of work products.
  • Build strong, high integrity business relationships with key clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage complex projects or critical portions of projects and ensure all aspects of a project are completed as outlined in the contract scope of work and timeline.
  • Conduct meetings and briefings with clients, prepare and facilitate budgets, proposals, client presentations, develop materials and reporting as needed.
  • Maintain currency of and compliance with applicable state and federal policies, procedures, and guidance documents for applicable roles.
  • Perform quality control review procedures over work performed by other consultants and over client-provided documents as requested.
  • During a disaster, you may be called into the field to support or co-lead relief efforts or assist with organizing responses to support advanced roles in emergency situations and/or activations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
