Job Description

STR is seeking a Security Representative to join our Arlington, VA team. As a Security Representative, you will assist with day-to day industrial security administration and front desk visitor security controls. This role will support clearance processing, visit certifications, document control, and physical security, including alarm response for controlled areas. You will gain a thorough understanding of security databases such as eQIP, SIMs, NISS and DISS. This position implements and provides guidance to customers and management on security issues such as security education, insider threat, classified document control, security investigations, classification control and personnel clearances.

The Security Representative will apply working knowledge of the SF-86, SF-312, DD-254, SF700, SF702, to support and maintain the PERSEC and PHYSEC programs. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, an aptitude for collaborative problem solving, excellent communication and reporting skills, maintains good customer relations and enjoys working in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Perform program security administrative tasks and duties such as supporting front desk visitor security controls, work with Facilities to manage receiving materials
  • Interface with all levels of STR personnel and government management personnel to ensure contract security compliance with National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM), DoD Manual 5205.07, Contract Security Classification Specification (DD254) and Program Classification Guides
  • Work as a team player, exhibit flexibility, and show excellent organizational skills
  • Analyze problems and provide focused solutions with the ability to effectively communicate information to various audiences. Bring security risks to the attention of the senior management and PM’s as identified
  • Conduct security self-inspections, apply risk mitigation methodologies, support customer assessments, and implement security measures to meet requirements
  • Investigate and document security violations/incidents, providing recommendations for corrective actions to program personnel/management
  • Management of COMSEC related duties and responsibilities under NSA CSS 3-16 and AR 380-40
  • Administer day-to-day security programs, personnel processing, program reviews, document control system, audits amp; self-inspections, violation investigations amp; reports, receipt/dispatch/destruction/mail logs, visit certs, etc.
  • Support the transportation of classified materials by providing support to couriers
  • Knowledge of Access Control and Intrusion Detection Systems
  • Primary interface with IDS/access management systems
  • Execute and support data transfers
  • Maintain, organize Security’s SharePoint site, as needed
  • Perform security escorting, as required
  • Experience creating and conducting initial security briefings, debriefings, indoctrinations, pre/post foreign travel briefings and refresher briefings, as appropriate
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently, customer service orientated
  • Ability to interpret company and government security policies and apply them to program operations
  • Willingness to learn how to develop and establish an effective security awareness, training, and education program

Requirements

  • US Citizenship
  • Active Secret clearance and be able to meet eligibility for Top Secret, ACCM, SAP and SCI
  • Must have the ability to work in a dynamic environment and effectively interact with numerous DOD, military/civilian personnel, and industry partners
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, etc.)
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Understanding of government security policy and guidance
  • Experience with SIMS, DISS, and JADE databases are a plus
  • Willing to travel on company business (approximately 10%)

Education

  • 1+ years’ experience in the industry or Associate’s degree in a relevant field of study
  • Ability to obtain FSO Training Certificate within 6 months
  • Ability to obtain COMSEC Custodian certification, as required
  • Professional Certifications/Affiliation
