Job Description

MOO set out to shake up the world of print back in 2006. And we’ve come a long way since. Today we’re a 400 + strong team (we’re thinking of getting matching jackets) who create print and digital products for companies of all sizes from Google and AirBnB to the guy who makes those amazing prints you found at a craft fair. Our global HQ is in London, UK, while we also have premises in Dagenham. In the US, you’ll find us in Boston, MA and Denver, CO.
We’re making new and exciting things and we could really do with your help.
The Business Intelligence ("BI") function at MOO today consists of a team of seven. There are three distinct threads to the team, with four Business Analysts, a Data Analyst, and one FPamp;A Analyst all currently reporting to the Director of BI. We work alongside a Data Engineering team consisting of four engineers and a TPO.
The team exists to support all area of the business (from the sales and commercial teams, to manufacturing and procurement, to category management, to support functions). We are here to help these teams make the best of use of available data to realise growth opportunities and leverage efficiencies to help MOO thrive.
The Role:The BI function is expected to grow by three in the coming months with the addition of this role, as well as an additional Data Analyst and Business Analyst.
As we grow the team we have a need for an experienced BI professional who is a great people manager to take on a newly created, highly visible and influential role reporting to the Director of BI. You will help shape the team and how we work. You will work with stakeholders from across the business and play a key role in priortising needs from the business in terms of analytical support and data requirements. As we mature our data environment, both in terms of systems and strengthening things like data governance and process, you will play a key role in helping us make the right decisions and the implementation of best practices.
Occasional local and UK lt;gt; US travel may be required.
The successful candidate will be a brilliant people manager, and will assume day-to-day line manager responsibilities for the existing four (and soon to be five) Business Analysts. You will be someone who cares deeply about the growth of their team members and takes pride in the success of your team.
MOO is brilliantly positioned for profitable future growth. In early 2023 we will complete the relocation of our US production facility to a much larger state-of-the-art facility which will allow the realisation of significant efficiencies and opens the door to future automation opportunities, as well as expanding what and how we manufacture. We have an exciting pipeline of new products as we continue to move beyond the paper products that MOO was built on. 2023 will see us spending in new marketing channels, implementing a new data platform and leveraging new data tooling, and investing in a new customer facing platform that will eventually replace the existing MOO.com website.
There is a lot going on, and the prospect of joining a company that is anything but business-as-usual will excite you. We need someone who can dig into and understand all aspects of the business. We need someone who is not afraid of complexity, is commercial astute, has an intuitive sense of what is important, and can distil complex and noisy data into recommendations and insights that they can comfortably present as findings and recommendations to C-level executives.Responsibilities:
  • Manage and develop the Business Analysts in the creation of actionable insights to business questions, drive business decision making, and develop recommendations
  • Work closely with the Data Analysts and the wider Data Engineering team on improvements to existing data sources and development of new data sources to support business needs
  • Work with stakeholders from across the business to understand where they may have unmet dashboarding and/or reporting needs, assist with prioritisation and devleopment of new dashboards
  • Drive a business intelligence roadmap, assist with prioritising analytics requests, and balance the tactical and strategic information needs of the business
  • Present analysis and recommendations to leadership across the business, using data-driven storytelling and influence to drive improvements in business operations and strategic change
  • Lead the definition and governance of key business metrics, drive the vision and building of automated dashboards and self-service analytic capabilities, and engineer data-driven processes that drive business value
About you:
  • Industry experience working within ecommerce B2C or B2B companies
  • Proven people management capabilities
  • Experience working in a complex environment and managing and prioritising stakeholder requests and team workflows and priorities
