Coordinates all efforts to recruit prospective students to Portland Bible College and administrates the admissions process for all applicants; Plans and coordinates strategies and activities that optimize enrollments by attracting new students to the College;This is accomplished by providing essential information about the College as it relates to admissions and enrollment; Making vital information available to the community through presentations to churches, high schools, youth groups, conferences and fairs; Working collaboratively with college faculty, staff, and current students to attract new students; Fostering awareness, promotion, and support of a culture of higher education through outreach; Planning, coordinating and providing administrative oversight for recruitment and outreach activities; This also involves communicating with Pastors, parents, high school officials and prospective students; Deploys said strategies with a high level of spiritual and pastoral guidance for the students, prayerfully considering their God-given gifts and calling and helping them determine fitness for Bible College enrollment; One-on-one recruitment counseling to diverse populations is an important responsibility of this position; This occurs primarily by in-person appointments, phone calls, texts and emails; This also includes planning and hosting all campus visitations and coordinating relevant communication between appropriate college staff and prospective students regarding program specifics and transfer standing.
Requirements
4 year Bible College Degree required (PBC graduate strongly preferred); 5 years of pastoral or ministerial experience with teens or young adults required; Willingness to travel to off-campus locations and to load and transport admissions materials, displays and other equipment is essential; Some evening and weekend hours required; Strong cross-cultural interpersonal and writing skills are necessary, including public speaking skills and the ability to present the college in a positive way to diverse populations; High degree of relational intelligence and sensitivity to be able to relate effectively to pastors, educators, parents and youth; Familiar with software technologies, including databases, word processors, presentations and spreadsheets; Knowledge of communication technology; Good organizational skills, ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; Ability to work under pressure and be flexible with hours during seasons of peak intensity; Ability to gather and train volunteers; Ability to delegate and oversee volunteers; Must embrace the ministry philosophy of PBC and Mannahouse; Must be a member in good standing of Mannahouse, including consistent attendance, ministry participation, and tithing.
