Job Description

This position is a hybrid role and requires you to work two days per week at our office located in Hollister, CA, and the other three days will be worked remotely.

ZeroAvia is the leader in zero-emission solutions for commercial aviation, helping the world to achieve truly clean, guilt-free flight.

The company is focused on hydrogen-electric propulsion solutions to address a variety of markets, initially targeting a 300-mile range in 919 seat aircraft by 2025, and up to a 700-mile range in 4080 seat aircraft by 2027. Based in the UK and USA, ZeroAvia has passed significant flight test milestones, secured a number of key partnerships with major aircraft OEMs and major global airlines, and is on track for commercial operations in 2025. The company’s achievements to date were rewarded by the UK prime minister by inviting ZeroAvia as a member of the UK Jet Zero Council.

ZeroAvia’s powertrain development focuses on integrating hydrogen storage tanks, fuel cell systems, and electric motors, delivering a solution that will be not only without climate-impacting emissions but also cheaper to operate. The company’s hydrogen infrastructure team is seeking to deliver the hydrogen production and refueling ecosystem required to fuel the transition to emission-free aviation.

Role

The People Operations Coordinator aids with and facilitates the processes for ZeroAvia’s US locations by providing operational support to applicants, employees, onboarding, HRIS and employee records, compliance, off-boarding, and the coordination of employee engagement activities and programs. The ideal candidate should possess a diverse understanding of both Human Resources and administrative duties. Please note, there may be light traveling required to our Everett, WA location in the future, but flights and lodging accommodations will be covered by ZeroAvia.

Responsibilities

  • First-line responder to internal and external people operations-related inquiries
  • Assist and support HR projects across US Recruiting, Payroll, Benefits, HRIS, and Compensation as directed
  • Facilitate full life-cycle administration, from pre-onboarding to termination
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding, including background screenings, first-day logistics between new hires and internal teams, workstation setup and collating personal information
  • Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files
  • Maintain accurate employee records and conducts audits of payroll, benefits, or other HR programs
  • Work cross-functionally with Business Leaders, Talent Management organizations, Finance, IT, and Facilities
  • Document, maintain, and communicate core people-related processes
  • Assist with organizing company events for our US sites

Experience and Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in HR Administration, Operations, or Generalist roles within the US
  • Background in payroll, benefits, and/or visa/immigration matters
  • Tact and discretion when working with employees and confidential information
  • General knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws related to recruitment, wages, benefits, leaves of absence, etc.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and stakeholder management skills
  • Able to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

  • Experience with HRIS and Payroll Systems such as BambooHR, Gusto, or similar
  • Flexible and people-centric approach to work and a high level of drive and ambition to help achieve the organization’s goals
  • Startup and/or manufacturing experience
  • A genuine passion for clean technology and the future of electric aviation

The wage scale or salary range for this position is between $ 80,000 - $100,000. In addition to the foregoing base compensation, additional compensation and benefits are available to employees and eligible family members (as applicable) including the following:
