Position Summary
Budtenders are responsible for ensuring the highest quality customer service, obtaining, preparing, and receiving merchandise for customers, totaling bills, accepting payment, making change for customers, opening and closing procedures, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, maintaining product knowledge and complying with cannabis rules and regulations. Budtenders are responsible for complying with all state regulations and company policies. Budtenders should also be friendly, outgoing, and have good communication skills. They should be organized, able to think, and act quickly and effectively while retaining self-composure. Be sensitive to customers’ needs. Take pride in personal appearance and show dedication to the job. Display integrity and honesty in all aspects of employment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure each guest receives outstanding customer service by fostering a friendly, welcoming atmosphere; this includes greeting and acknowledging every guest enthusiastically, maintaining outstanding standards, answering questions and/or concerns, making guests feel appreciated through your actions, and having solid product knowledge.
- Verify the validity of the identification of guests as per state regulations.
- Learn guests’ names and favorite products.
- Accurately input customers’ orders, collect money from guests and make change; totaling price and tax on merchandise; accepting payment and making change; and packaging products in appropriate exit containers per state regulations.
- Work with team members to open and close the store.
- Wash and sterilize company workstations and tools.
- Arrange products to maintain an attractive display.
- Adhere to all state and company marijuana rules and guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned

The Budtender position requires the ability to process information and merchandise through computer and POS register system; the ability to communicate with associates and guests; the ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation; the ability to freely access all areas of the store including the selling floor, stock area, and register area the ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store generally weighing up to 50 pounds.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Possess Marijuana worker permit (Oregon only)
- Working level computer knowledge
- Moderate to advanced cannabis/product knowledge
- Previous retail, food, or customer service experience
- Ability to speak politely and effectively with a diverse clientele
- Ability to work with a minimum amount of supervision under stressful conditions
- Ability to interpret and apply state cannabis rules and regulations
