Career Renew is recruiting for one of its clients a Backend Engineer - Data (Fully Remote) based in US, UK or Canada.
We're building a new way to think and work with numbers. We developed a tool for performing calculations, visualising data, and communicating with numbers. We take the good parts of spreadsheets and combine them with the good parts of programming, to make number-crunching fast, collaborative, and accessible to everyone. We are well-funded by some great VCs (Accel, Coatue, Passion Capital) and angel investors (Naval Ravikant, Scott Belsky, and many more) across the US and Europe.
We're looking for an engineer to build out our data infrastructure. This is a tech leadership role (oversee data integration development and roadmap, work closely with customers) who will make sure our data integrations work consistently and have great UX. We need the candidate to drive future direction of data integrations; build integrations, consolidate pipelines, increase test coverage; and develop better mechanisms for data transforms. Core competencies include having strong engineering experience (very comfortable working with data and backend engineering in general), leadership potential, and collaborative + good communication skills (collaborate with customers directly).
Requirements
6+ years of relevant professional experience (excluding contracting)
Ideally ex engineering manager and/or has team lead experience
Proficient in Typescript or Python
ClickHouse or other database company experience (MongoDB, DuckDB, PostgreSQL, etc.)
