Junior Accountant

The Junior Accountant is responsible for performing accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Act as backup accounts payable
• Review and verify invoices and check requests
• Enter and upload invoices into system
• Set invoices up for payment
• Track expenses and process expense reports
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
• Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
• Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
• Prepare monthly journal entries and various account analyses
• Research on reconciling items
• Assist with month end closing
• Help to assemble information for external auditors for annual audit

Requirements

• Experience working with AP/GL Data
• Proficient in data entry and management
• Good knowledge of Excel and popular accounting software
• Excellent problem-solving
• Knowledge of general accounting procedures
• Strong team player skills with close attention to detail
• Ability to engage with people on a professional level

This position is full-time with excellent benefits, based at San Diego Symphony locations: The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park and Jacobs Music Center. There is also the opportunity for this position to be hybrid (work from home and on site).

Pay rate: $20.00/hour non-exempt
