Senior User Experience Designer

LAC Federal is seeking an experienced Senior User Experience Designer to provide expertise and leadership in conducting user experience research and user testing for the development of a search layer at a major federal library. The Senior UX Designer will work with internal stakeholders and team members to design and carry out user testing for existing and prototype interfaces. The Senior UX Designer also works with agency stakeholders to define the goals and objectives for each test developing project plans and contributing to weekly status updates. During prototype development and testing, the Designer works with developers and testers to identify and solve product design problems.

Requirements

• A Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Library Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or related fields (Master's or Higher Strongly Preferred but Bachelor's is Acceptable)
• At least 7 years experience with user experience research design performing all the tasks described above
• Experience working with enterprise application including search engines and discovery layers
• Experience with user experience design for prototypes
• Ability to work with diverse stakeholders including IT professionals, librarians, and end users
• Ability to identify problems with product design
