Job Description

A CG Life Account Director is a core strategist with 10 years of life science or healthcare agency experience under their belt. This person thrives in fast-paced environments and is excited by the challenge of helping their clients obtain results.

They are a day-to-day business builder with a keen focus on merging past experience, current marketplace analysis, and client goals to deliver successful marketing projects, programs, and campaigns. This individual pushes past the status quo and encourages those around them to do the same.

Business Impact:

  • Displays business acumen to apply knowledge beyond current client-base or vertical, able to pivot and have an immediate impact and bring in a different client department or vertical fluidly.
  • Responsible for organic growth initiatives/opportunities - financial and otherwise on a defined client or portfolio, while delivering real results for our clients and meeting/exceeding agency revenue goals.
  • Understands major strategies driving the organization and how day-to-day tasks relate to them.
  • Possesses a strong understanding of business principles and follows policies, practices, trends, and information affecting the agency, the life science industry, our clients, and their competitors.

Industry Expertise:

  • Demonstrates expert knowledge of the life science and healthcare industry, with over a decade of experience working across functional areas, therapeutic categories and multi-channel platforms.
  • Collaborates seamlessly with the new business team to ensure our client scopes are rooted in market assessment and customer insights.
  • Guides client planning and forward thinking via established industry knowledge, including but not limited to general business trends, holistic marketing activities and industry specific opportunities.
  • Initiates brainstorming with Strategy, Creative and other teams to develop creative briefs with high-impact solutions and recommendations that align with client business goals.
  • Ensures that all work leaving the agency delivers on the expectations outlined in the creative brief and is of the highest quality based on client inputs and market assessment.
  • Dedicated to self-development and seizes on-the-job opportunities to enrich skills and learn new information about their profession on a regular basis.

Leadership:

  • Encourages and coaches team members to use independent judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for collaborating to solve challenges and obtain results.
  • Being sufficiently informed by team members and personally involved as needed to ensure the agency-client relationship is in good standing and that we are delivering sound planning, good service, and thoughtful programs.
  • Responsible for overall account performance, ensuring client business strategy and agency are aligned.
  • Responsible for all aspects of developing a strong partner-based relationship with clients that includes leading them in brand, channel, product planning, and strategy that leads to strong business-driving results, service excellence, and proactive ideation.
  • Showcase value by exceeding client expectations and building, maintaining, and strengthening senior-level relationships.
  • Identify areas of opportunities within current accounts to move their business forward and drive organic growth.
  • Prepares employees for the increasing requirements of on-the-job professionalism by communicating expectations and values clearly, giving employees time to adjust to new tools or practices.

  • Demonstrates success at working with cross-functional teams and building strong relationships both internally and externally.
  • Uses past experience(s) to deliver difficult message(s), that does not impact client satisfaction or internal team relations.
  • Negotiates and manages conflict and customer concerns that cause significant dissatisfaction and frustration.
  • Remains composed and self-assured under pressure. Has established trust with colleagues and often relied upon to help them find a quick, acceptable path through difficult situations.

People Management:

  • Manage and mentor other member(s) of the team, responsible for goal setting, performance management, career growth, etc.
